Fourth in the Jane Porter series, this one is highly disappointing. It is quite short and is really a set of scenes, some which are only partially finished, strung together rather poorly. The transitions don't exist and are jarring to the reader, not to mention we are left with the significant scene only introduced and then abandoned as Adair time shifts forward. I thoroughly enjoyed the first three, but this one is the kind to turn me off completely to an author. It is disrespectful to treat your readers this way. I actually enjoyed the serial format of the first three; they were complete with an understandable conclusion. This on the other hand is like notes for future books were hobbled together and released. A shame, I was a reliable purchaser/reader. Can't say I'll be one in the future.
