This is a fantastic study of music in Athens with a fair background to the foundations during Homeric times through the fall in 404 BC. Bundrick does a fine job of elucidating the various manifestations of myths and how they change in regards to music. It makes clear the fluidity of stories, or creep and shows that the interpretation that is popular in theory today wasn't always and quite possibly won't be in the future. Excellent resource and a keeper.
