Nice setting and a good cast of characters that easily sets up future stories. Both the hero and heroine were well done and loveable. The extremity of the antagonists in the story was slightly unbelievable: the manipulating ex-beauty queen mother (who says things in front of an audience that she never would), the brash slut (who intrudes at the hero's family's Thanksgiving uninvited and with no existing relationships with the family other than living in the same town), and the psychotic admirer (whose stalking is extreme- honestly, this one was the least problematic since that sort of mental illness does really snap like that, but in combination with the others seemed too contrived and over-the-top).
