Favorite quote/passage:"It's a boy. Why does everyone assume he's a girl?""He's wearing Hello Kitty socks." There was a distinct note of disapproval in his voice."They were the only ones available in his size," I said."You can't put a boy in pink socks.""He's only a week old. Do I have to worry about gender bias already?""You really are from Austin, aren't you?"(p.39)This is the second contemporary romance by Kleypas that I've read and it is another emotional no-holds-barred read. The complexity and character stretching that I came to see in her Hathaway series is evident here as well. She takes the illusion of perfection, tosses it around with reality and makes the protagonists win their own Happily-Ever-After. I gave this book 4 stars when it is really almost 5. I might upgrade it yet, after all, I did just finish reading it fifteen minutes ago.
