I liked this book, but not knowing its trajectory I found the beginning not connected enough to warrant the amount of time given to it and the end abrupt. Now that I realize that this is set up like Quantum Leap it makes more sense. I and the heroine did get invested with the characters so the ending was dissatisfying in that she has to leave everything she's found behind and start again. Now it seems like a fun motif, but in reality the task seems more like being widowed or abandoned to have to take another person's life through the rough parts and then get tossed along to the next. Even so, I found the book entertaining and the characters well-rounded.
