Tempted - Megan Hart Favorite quote, though the book has many good ones, this is the winner:“You don’t have to be perfect, Anne. I never expected you to be. I don’t want you to be. I want you to be happy, with me. With our life, the way it is.” [4967-4968]I chose this quote because it was happy...optimistic. There were so many perfect dark moments of reveal that they struck way too close to be a favorite. Favorite in the way that you keep something in that drawer you open rarely, like a wound you can't heal and need to remind yourself of the pain. This book was beyond anything I was prepared for. Sure there was sex, an illicit menage, but the emotions in every instance were exquisite. Pain and pleasure, woven together so perfectly in everyday life. This is the kind of book I'll reread when it's time to rip the scab off again. Sharp, real, and beautiful.
