4.5 starsVerra nice. Unexpected in the execution. I mean from the blurb and cover art I was thinking this was going a totally different direction--not my favorite, but I'm open to new ideas. Then, BAM! Yeah, it turned. The strongest points of this story were the emotions displayed between the characters. The weakest was the prevalence of stating rather than showing certain elements of the plot, especially as they related to the world-building. Not horrible considering geographic restrictions, but not favored. Essentially, if you don't mind intelligence reports as a means of relaying plot devices then this won't phase you in the least. For this reason, I marked down one star.
