Making Promises - Amy Lane Nearly a 4 and would have rated a 5 if the melodrama was toned down. The characters in this one were great and well developed. Shane is the perfect standup guy who gets the short end of a lot of things and Mickey is the temperamental artist with a heart he's never used. Shane is the so calm in the face of Mickey's anger and self loathing and watching them both and especially Mickey's growth and acceptance is emotional. On the downside? Again, there is a use of extreme plot points and one scene near the end, Brandon and Kurt showing up was OTT and did nothing to further the story at all, that detracted from the story. The uneveness of the pacing versus these dramatic events is discordant.
