Special Forces: Soldiers Part I -Director's Cut - Aleksandr Voinov, Marquesate I finished this book a couple days ago and I'm still having difficulty formulating a cogent review. To say that it is awesome is an understatement, the truth is it is a exquisitely painful and beautiful unveiling of two deeply conceived characters. The backdrop of war creates external tensions for the Vadim and Dan, but the internal conflicts they face in themselves are more critical, more devastating, more terrifying and more liberating. It is a delightful study in power and subversion. The ending is satisfying and utterly unacceptable at the same time and only highlights the constant merger and divergence the reader experiences as polarities are outlined, bled together, and redefined.
