3.5 starsThis is a really interesting story that's told well--I just don't care for the style. In order to give the reader insight into the minds of both participants delving into a new world/mindset that author has chosen an alternating POV. In the beginning this just had me banging my head against surfaces because it slowed everything down--a lot. This is a book that explains the motivations of the characters in excruciating detail and for people who haven't spent time to understand their own motivations maybe it's interesting, but for me I don't enjoy it.That all said, the characters are well done, real and it seriously explores two individuals embarking on a life-changing journey. Thus I rated it higher than I would have for pure pleasure alone.
